The Store Manager In Training is critical to providing our customers the highest levels of welcoming customer service, presenting a curated experience, and increasing the expertise at stores through hiring, inspiring, coaching, and empowering their team.

  • Develop local marketing initiatives, events and programs
  • Share and aid the development of local marketing partnerships
  • Plan and execute in-store and out-of-store community events to drive awareness

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent, Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • Demonstrated 3+ years of leadership/management experience in a retail environment
  • You’ll need to be flexible with your schedule. Your work hours will be based on business needs
  • Experience managing a team of hourly team members
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Interested in applying new tools to business processes and improving where necessary
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Strong problem solving, decision making, financial analysis, and computer skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

Curated

  • Continually curate an innovative assortment that resonates with the Pacifier customer
  • Develop a working knowledge of the buying functions including merchandise selection, negotiating, pricing and promotions, and planning and marketing merchandise
  • Tailor assortment based on deep understanding of the customer, and detailed understanding of category, brand and sku level analytical performance
  • Identify and vet potential new categories/products/vendors based on knowledge of competitors and emerging trends
  • Continually enhance omni-channel pricing strategy to balance revenue and margin goals
  • Ensure efficient re-ordering; make sure appropriate discounts/shipping rates are applied and all invoices are accounted for and accurate
  • Identify and develop key strategic and vendor partnerships
  • Identify, develop and manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, including margin improvement, floor samples, training support, co-op marketing, etc.
  • Partner with the leadership team to identify and assess strategic partnerships – own brand, private label, store within a store, etc.
  • Coordinate all day-to-day administrative activities and communication with vendors
  • Occasional market travel: visiting vendors, attending trade shows, etc

Expert

  • Continually build expertise across team
  • Develop processes/communication and teach the team to build knowledge of the “why” of new brands and products
  • Skill and coach team members in learning merchandising tasks – creating new products and POs, inventory counts, replenishment, etc.
  • Support the build of merchandising standard operating procedures and training materials
  • Assist with product builds, images and information gathering
  • Inventory management
  • Manage inventory obsolescence by initiating store inventory transfers and supporting and/or recommending clearance strategies
  • Partner with creative director to support seasonal themes and needs-period promo + clearance planning
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory system by initiating partial inventory counts on a weekly basis
  • Accountability for the business results of your product subcategories

Retail Logistics Associate - North Loop Pacifier

Pacifier – Minneapolis, MN

Job Description

Pacifier, a modern baby + kids boutique, is looking for logistics team members at our North Loop location. Enjoy a fun work environment and be part of a growing company! This job is partially located on our sales floor so providing welcoming customer service is a must.

Duties include:

  • Receiving, tagging and preparing merchandise for entry onto selling floor or stock
  • Accurately and effectively stocking merchandise to the sales floor and excess quantities to backstock
  • Following up with vendors on wrong shipments, damages and defectives and ensuring credit/refunds are received and items are donated
  • Ensuring backroom and workspace up-keep and organization

Qualifications:

  • Must be reliable, detail-oriented, pro-active, hard-working, and enthusiastic
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
