FT Store Manager - Pacifier Highland Park

Job Description

The Store Manager is critical to providing our customers the highest levels of welcoming customer service, presenting a curated experience in terms of assortment, visual merchandising and local marketing, and increasing the expertise at their store through hiring and ongoing coaching. This role will partner with the owner to develop and achieve operating and profitable growth goals in addition to assessing potential store relocation/re-model opportunities.


  • Provide best-in-class customer service and sales
  • Provide direct customer service on the sales floor, particularly for high-training categories such as gear and/or long-term customers
  • Lead by example mentoring team in providing high-quality customer interactions
  • Recognize and properly resolve all performance and customer issues
  • Ring on the register, report and handle all required transactions, gift wrap, etc.
  • Measurement: Google reviews


  • Create and optimize localized assortment
  • Tailor assortment based on deep understanding of the customer
  • Identify and vet potential new products/vendors
  • Ensure efficient re-ordering of localized assortment
  • Measurement: Store gross profit
  • Present strong visual merchandising that tells a story
  • Develop cadence and toolkit for robust window displays that drive traffic/interest
  • Present unique and frequently changing visual merchandise displays that encourage upsell
  • Maintain a neat, clean and shoppable store
  • Measurement: Items per transaction, ‘shopability’
  • Develop local marketing initiatives, events and programs
  • Develop and drive local marketing partnerships
  • Plan and execute in-store and out-of-store community events to drive awareness
  • Develop strategy and execute local content/social media plan
  • Measurement: Marketing ROI/event attendance


  • Recruit, hire and engage a best-in-class team
  • Recruit and hire to ensure store has appropriate staffing levels to support business
  • Schedule staffing according to anticipated volume, budgets and store needs
  • Create an atmosphere where all team members are held accountable and can contribute to their full potential
  • Measurement: Retention, Engagement
  • Continually build expertise across team
  • Identify areas of opportunities for deeper expertise for self and team
  • Engage in training and coaching across existing and new products/categories

  • 1-3+ years experience in a retail environment
  • Energetic, results oriented and competitive with a drive to succeed
  • Leadership skills and team-oriented thinking
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and financial analysis skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work weekends (1 per week) and holidays
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Be able to lift 40 lbs

Job Description

Pacifier, a modern baby + kids boutique, is looking for a friendly and outgoing sales associate! We have weekend shifts available for both seasonal and potentially permanent positions. Enjoy a fun work environment and an employee discount.

  • Fridays 10-6
  • Saturdays 10-6

  • Must be reliable, friendly, detail-oriented, pro-active, hard-working, and enthusiastic
